KERAMAG Orders Further Kiln from Keramischer OFENBAU

Ceramic sanitaryware manufacturer and member of Sanitec Group, KERAMAG AG, has continued to modernise and extend the production facilities at its main plant in Wesel, Germany. As part of this project, Keramischer OFENBAU GmbH (Hildesheim, Germany) has gained the order for the supply of a sanitaryware shuttle kiln for first firing, refiring and special firing of vitreous china. The chamber kiln has a useful volume of 135 cubic metres and is one of the largest here.

Heating is effected above and below the setting by means of a modern heating system which, combined with a sophisticated kiln control and visualisation system, allows for fully automatic changes of firing curves and of cycle times.

The manufacturer says that the advantage of this plant design is the high temperature uniformity over the setting cross-section in the different kiln areas. The new concept enables a significant reduction in specific energy consumption and cycle times. This order gained by Keramischer OFENBAU is the sixth placed with the company by the Sanitec Group in the past six years.
