Grant Introduces Hot-ROCS Rotary Oven

Following requests from combinatorial and material synthesis chemists, Grant Instruments (Shepreth, Cambs, England) is adding the time saving Hot-ROCS rotary oven to its popular range of Grant Boekel products. Designed with a particularly small footprint to fit easily inside a standard fume hood, the oven accommodates a variety of reaction vessels.

The oven provides controlled heating and mixing of reagents during chemical synthesis. Unlike most other shaking or stirring reactor products, the Hot-ROCS produces a rotation of the reaction vessels. This induces tumbling of the vessel contents, providing the effective mixing mechanism required for controlled synthesis reactions. This mixing action is particularly beneficial for solid phase synthesis, preventing resin settlement or compaction.
