Russell Finex Launch Latest Developments in Sieving and Filtration Range

At PPMA 2006 (26-28 September 2006, NEC, Birmingham), fine mesh separation specialist Russell Finex Ltd (Feltham, Middx, England) will be showing its new Blow Thru Sieve™ for the first time in the UK. This state-of-the-art separator has been designed and certified for use in pneumatic conveying lines, enabling processors to screen and transport material simultaneously. The screener has been developed to solve the need to check-screen powder during dilute-phase positive pressure conveying. The Blow Thru Sieve™ ensures that incoming ingredients or final products leaving a plant are free from any contamination.

By combining screening and transportation, the sieve eliminates double handling, increasing efficiency. Its unique design allows the sieve to achieve phenomenal throughput rates, enabling processors to screen material as they load or unload tankers or silos without slowing the process.

The Blow Thru Sieve™ is a fully certified pressure vessel and meets international pressure equipment legislation. It can be used up to a maximum pressure of 2 bar and is ideal for any bulk powder application where quality and efficiency are important factors.

Flexibility is a key benefit. Assembly and disassembly of the unit are achieved using a simple tool. This allows cleaning between batches to be quick and simple. FDA approved materials and polished surface finishes are available for food applications. The unit can be mounted on a mobile stand allowing it to be used at several locations at one site, giving customers complete installation flexibility.

The innovative and award winning Compact Airlock Sieve (patent pending) will also be a key feature on the Russell Finex stand. Since its launch, adds the company, the revolutionary unit has been developed further and has recently undergone independent (SMEPAC) tests to get an OEL (Occupational Exposure Limit) value. The sieve has registered a value of less than 1 µg/m3. This proves the Compact Airlock Sieve gives large improvements in product containment, reduces dust and improves the health and safety of operators.

A fully working demonstration model of the market leading Horizontal Eco Filter will also be displayed on the Russell Finex stand. Perfect for most liquids including paints, inks, chocolate, chemicals etc, this filter continuously removes oversize contamination, improving the quality of final products. Ease of assembly and disassembly make the unit ideal for screen changeovers, product changeovers and cleaning by operators. This increases productivity and significantly reduces labour costs.

Another award winning machine, the Finex Separator will be on show. Russell Finex says that perfect for grading or sizing powders, this high performance machine offers many measurable benefits over conventional separators including lower noise levels and upgrade flexibility; twice the capacity can be achieved on wet or dry materials with the same accuracy of standard separator designs.

All of these products can be supplied to the latest ATEX approval ratings making them suitable for installation in potentially hazardous environments.
