Diamond Wet Polishing for Non-Circular Shapes

Lippert GmbH (Pressath, Germany) has introduced its newly developed AV 600/500 polisher for plates and bowls - based on its existing in-line polishing concept - which it says now brings top-level polishing to non-circular items and bases.

The article to be polished rests on a non-slip lining and arrives upside down at the polishing heads. These heads carry the polishing belts then descend on to each stationary article. The article base is now polished by the rotating polishing heads.

Article indexing through the in-line polishing machine is carried out by a basic and uncomplicated conveyor system. Article changeover is said to be fast and easy, effected by the stroke of a key plus diameter scale (teach-in). Article height is detected automatically.

The AV 600/500 will handle any oval and rectangular platter and plate design, even curved articles with non-circular bases. Even double bases do not present an obstacle, unless linear-shaped.

For most ware, machine output will level off at around 600 to 800 articles per hour. Lippert offers all interested parties the opportunity to test polish their own plates and platters on the demonstration unit at Lippert's facility.
