Diago receives ISO 14001 environmental quality certification

The tile company Cerámicas Diago S.A. has achieved ISO 14001 environmental quality certification. It is only the second company in Spain and third in all Europe to receive this prize which is awarded for the correct and controlled treatment and management of all waste products created during the production process of the different ceramic products.

Cerámicas Diago has received ISO 14001 environmental quality certification, which guarantees and certifies full compliance with European regulations on the environment. In Europe, only three ceramic sector companies have received this award, two of them being Spanish companies.

The ISO 14001 standard demands strict fulfillment of the rules on the use and treatment of the different types of waste created during the production process of any industry.

As Ignacio Diago, the commercial manager of this Castellón company, explained "our production centers in Castellón and Onda have had to adapt themselves to the requirements established by the standard, so various containers had to be made to separate the waste depending on type, so that they could later be taken away and eliminated in a controlled manner with no harmful effect on the environment".

Ecological tiles

It can be said that Cerámicas Diago makes ecological tiles, as both the production process and the elimination of the different compounds that are used in production are subject to and fulfill the standards demanded by the EC in terms of the environment.

"ISO 14001 certification is very important for our future projects as it is a way of demonstrating Cerámicas Diago's concern for total quality, that is, for offering a quality product, original in design, which is also environment friendly", explained Ignacio Diago.
