5th International Conference on High Temperature Ceramic Matrix Composites

The American Ceramic Society (ACerS) has announced that 5th International Conference on High-Temperature Ceramic Matrix Composites (HTCMC-5) will be co-located with the 56th Pacific Coast Regional and Basic Science Fall Meeting in Seattle, WA, USA from 12-16 September 2004.

Ceramic matrix composites (CMCs) are enabling materials for a number of high temperature and demanding applications in aerospace, power generation, ground transportation, nuclear, environmental and chemical industries. Tremendous progress has been made in technology development, manufacturing, commercialisation and applications of these materials over the last few years. However, significant challenges still remain for their widespread use in these applications.

HTCMC-5 will cover all areas related to science, technology and applications of high temperature CMCs. Special emphasis has been placed on addressing key technical and economic challenges, success stories and emerging technologies which are expected to open new frontiers and horizons for CMCs in the 21st century.

There will be a tabletop exhibit, providing exhibitors with the opportunity to meet face-to-face with professionals involved in the research, engineering, manufacture and sales of ceramic composites. This will be open at selected times.
