Ex-Portmeirion director Philip White has set up TKH Services Ltd to help and advise on all aspects of factory operation and business. The knowledge and expertise that will be used on customers' behalf is based on Mr White's 35 years' experience within the UK ceramic industry and includes the following areas:• Raw materials and body formulations.
• Body and slip preparation.
• Mould and die manufacture from original design or model.
• Manufacturing techniques for all types of product.
• Glaze formulation and application techniques.
• Decorating techniques of all types.
• Design development from original design concept to manufacture of finished product.
• Drying and firing technology of all types and for all requirements.
• Quality systems, production control testing and standards specification.
• Quality standards and test procedures for finished products, including non-ceramic products.
• Environment issues, including energy management and Climate Change Agreement requirements.
• Project management.
• Organisation of production areas and the selection of equipment.
• Health and Safety - legislative requirements and practice.TKH Services will also help in the training of personnel and in the provision of information and advice to industry customers, if required.
