CARBO Ceramics Announces Second Quarter Dividend Increase of 21%
CARBO Ceramics Inc (Irving, TX, USA), the world's leading manufacturer of ceramic proppants for use in the hydraulic fracturing of natural gas and oil wells and the leading supplier of fracture and reservoir diagnostic services, has announced that its Board of Directors has approved an increase in the company's dividend, raising the quarterly dividend by 21% to 17 cents per common share. The dividend is payable on 15 August 2008 to shareholders of record as of 31 July 2008.
Gary Kolstad, CEO and President of CARBO Ceramics, said: "This dividend increase reflects the Board of Directors' continued confidence in the long-term outlook for our business and in the company's ability to sustain its financial strength”.
This dividend increase represents the eighth consecutive year the company has increased its dividend to shareholders. In July 2007, the company announced a dividend payment of $0.14 per share, an increase of 17%.
