Axiom Announces Lybra - An On-Line Tile Glaze Monitoring And Control System That Ensures Consistent Glaze Weight

Axiom (Cambridge) Ltd., is a sophisticated and imaginative high-tech company well known for its approach to providing innovative solutions essential for increased, accurate quality production.

The Company is currently introducing to a competitive marketplace ATISTM : Lybra.

An impressive, effective, high performance, automatic quality system, Lybra fills a current gap in the marketplace by providing continuous monitoring and accurate glaze application statistics. Lybra provides on-line quality checks enabling maximum accuracy in the control of the glazing process.

Lack of accurate, on-line, quality checks during the glaze application process is precarious. It leads to surface defects that propagate through the manufacturing process and if not corrected at source they lead to punitive product and financial loss.

Massimo Gaetani, Marketing Director for the Company emphasised, "Lybra is a high precision weighing device that calculates the desired amount of glaze applied onto a tile during the glazing process."

Lybra offers three sampling modes:
  • Time based; where the system collects and measures a tile from the glazing line at a specific time eg every 15 minutes.
  • Sample based; where the system collects and measures a tile after a specified number of pieces eg every 100 tiles.
  • Continuous; where the system starts a new sampling cycle immediately after the previous one finishes.

  • The system can easily be installed into the production environment with minimum disruption to either new or existing sorting lines.

    Lybra operates with tiles sized between 15 X 15 and 60 X 60 cms.
