Argentine Tile Company Expands

Ceramica Alberdi (Argentina) is installing a new plant for the production of 3 million square metres per annum of glazed porcelain and frost-proof floor tiles. The order, placed with Sacmi (Imola, BO, Italy) involves installation of a continuous MTC101 mill, an ATM065 lance-type spray dryer, two PH3590 presses, two vertical EVA993 dryers, two cutting edge glazing lines and a 140.7 metre-long FMS275 kiln.

Ceramica Alberdi has been in the construction ceramics business for nearly a century and today produces glazed wall and floor tiles as well as extruded clay product.

Cooperation with Sacmi saw the supply of a continuous grinding system to Alberdi that allowed a switch from dry-ground red body to wet-ground, low-absorbance white tile body - an important step for this Argentine producer.
