Ultra High Temp Applications Offered by Aremco

Aremco Products Inc (Valley Cottage, NY, USA) has announced that it now offers a complete range of machinable ceramic materials for applications right up to 3000^oC. Several standard compositions are offered, including aluminium oxide, aluminium nitride, aluminium silicate, boron nitride, glass ceramic, magnesium oxide and zirconium phosphate.

The company's machinable ceramics are said by Aremco to offer the most comprehensive set of dielectric and thermal properties available in the market today. Properties include:

• Temperature Resistance from 370^oC to 3000^oC
• Coefficients of Expansion from 0.5 to 6.0ppm/^oF
• Compressive Strengths from 4,800 to 340,000psi
• Dielectric Strengths from 80 to 1340V/mil
• Thermal Conductivities from 0.41 to 55W/m/K

Applications are said to be found throughout industry, from aerospace and electronics to the heat treating and plastics industries. Some typical applications include gas combustion nozzles, thermal and electrical insulators, substrates for thick-film microelectronics, molten metal crucibles, and hot die parts for thermoplastic forming equipment.
