ARBURG Opens New Subsidiary in Shanghai
On 1 July 2004, ARBURG GmbH & Co KG (Lossburg, Germany) officially opened its new subsidiary in Shanghai. The head of the new company - ARBURG (Shanghai) Co Ltd - is Zhao Tong who, together with his team, will support the Chinese injection moulding market. The company's subsidiary in Hong Kong remains responsible for Hong Kong and the Guangdong Province.
ARBURG has had a representative office in Shanghai since 1997, which was subordinate to the management of the Hong Kong subsidiary. As the Chinese market has been an important sales region for the company in recent years and is of increasing significance for the future, the legal steps towards the foundation of a fully-owned subsidiary company in Shanghai were initiated back in November 2003.
As soon as the new company has taken up its full business activities, the previous representative office will be closed. However, the employees will be transferred to the new subsidiary company.
