Opportunities for Welsh and Irish Clay Artists

The Feile Clai Project is a joint venture between Wales and Ireland to support ceramicists within the context of the INTERREG 111A Community Initiative which aims to sustain the development of cross border regions. Professional Development Workshops and Skills Workshops have been organised as part of the project in both Wales and Ireland including photo imaging, ceramic techniques and business development.

The first Feile Clai weekend of 2006 takes place at Aberystwyth Arts Centre (Ceredigion, Wales) from 18-19 March.

There will, additionally, be an exciting opportunity to exhibit in both the Kilkenny Crafts Council Gallery in the Republic of Ireland and the Ceramics Gallery at Aberystwyth. An Award of Excellence will be given to the best ‘New and Emerging Maker’ selected from the exhibition who will also be offered the opportunity to exhibit at the Established Makers Exhibition at Aberystwyth during the 2007 International Ceramics Festival. The award will include two tickets to the festival. See website for all further details.
