Thermbond Refractory US Sales Team Doubles in 2007

Stellar Materials Inc, a world-wide leader in refractories, marketed under the brand name Thermbond® Refractories, doubled its US sales team in 2007.

A months-long recruiting process culminated in the hiring of four experienced sales and marketing personnel who the company says will contribute to the impressive sales growth of Stellar Material’s flagship product, Thermbond Refractories.

“We are hiring because the demand for Thermbond has surged,” said Tom Atkins, VP Worldwide Sales. “More companies are specifying Thermbond Refractories for major relines and repairs.”

Tom Atkins attributes the surge to a combination of new business plus returning customers. “Customers first used Thermbond because of our reputation for fast curing and our product’s ability to bond to existing fired refractory. Now they are ordering more Thermbond because they experienced improved refractory performance and extended life.”

Alex Harvey joined the Thermbond sales team in October 2007. Mr Harvey, former Director of Marketing at Plibrico, has 35 years of sales, marketing and installation experience in the refractory business. He operates out of Chicago and promotes Thermbond to the primary and secondary aluminium markets.

Operating out of Tennessee and managing Southeast US sales is Jeff Pchola, former regional sales manager for Molten Metal Equipment.

Dave Ernst joined the Thermbond sales team as Sales Manager, Northeast US. Mr Ernst works out of Pittsburgh.

Ken Hoyt works out of Arkansas and is the Thermbond Sales Manager for the Central US.

These four join the rest of the Stellar Materials sales team to effectively cover the industrial markets for Thermbond Refractories in the USA with a special emphasis on the aluminium, petrochemical and power industries.

Thermbond is manufactured in Whitmore Lake, MI, USA with additional company offices in Florida, Texas, Arizona, Oregon, Wisconsin, The Netherlands, Germany and the United Arab Emirates. Thermbond is also distributed internationally through exclusive strategic partners.
