Pyrotek Acquires TAB Refractories
Pyrotek Inc (Spokane, WA, USA) has announced the acquisition of TAB Refractories Construction & Maintenance Co Ltd, a company headquartered in the UK. TAB Refractories is said to be the world's largest independent company specialising in the relining and maintenance of aluminium cast house furnaces, undertaking projects in over 30 countries. TAB, owned by brothers Simon and Paul Taberham, has offices in the UK, Bahrain, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.
Managing Director Simon Taberham said: "TAB is yet another piece of the jigsaw for Pyrotek to provide a one-stop shop for the cast house, for the handling of aluminium from the crucible to the casting station. Pyrotek is the only company in the world now offering this comprehensive service.
"TAB's strength is not only in the initial refractory lining of all types of furnaces, but in its global experience and success in improving aluminium plant production. Through increasing the processing capacities of existing furnaces and improving refractory specifications to cut downtimes, we help reduce unplanned maintenance resulting in increased production without major capital outlay.
