Linn Announces Slovenian Investment

Linn High Therm (Eschenfelden, Germany), a leading German manufacturer of industrial and laboratory furnaces and kilns, took over 40% of the Slovenian induction furnace manufacturer PI & B (Ljubljana, Slovenia) on 1 January 2004. The new name of the company is INDUKTIO.

The company produces medium frequency industrial inverters for induction heating of electrically conductive materials, above all for hardening, annealing, forging, soldering and also brazing, welding, melting and heating. With extremely reactive power, they are said to be most suitable for the heating of highly conductive materials - such as Al, Cu, Ag etc - and non-magnetic metals. For example, soldering processes for Al-Al tube connections, as well as Al-Cu, were developed and successfully realised. The MF-output power is up to 250kW and the nominal working frequency is from 2kHz to 100kHz.

Complete automatic production lines with robot or handling systems are offered with partners. The company also produces high frequency generators on semiconductor and tube/valve technology from 100kHz to 27.12MHz with power from 5kW to 100kW according to customer specifications.

The control and supervision is effected by Simatic S7, which allows for an easy integration into production lines and processes. Depending on the country, the distribution will be undertaken by INDUKTIO or by Linn High Therm.
