Polish Tile Maker Opts for Skega Ecoline Lifter Bars

The recently introduced Skega Ecoline lifter bars from Metso Minerals (Mill Linings, Ersmark, Sweden), offering reuse, ease of removal and reduced costs, have been chosen by leading Polish ceramic tile manufacturer Opoczno SA for its batch mills. The company has recently opened a new plant adding a further seven batch mills to its production - all equipped with the new Skega Ecoline lifter bars.

Opoczno, the new largest tile producer in Poland and one of the biggest in Eastern/Central Europe, offers over 1,000 tile designs and ceramic decorations for household interiors or facilities.

In 2001, the company opened a new plant in Mazowsze, with an annual production capacity of 10 million sq.m. Together with the old plant, Opoczno today manufactures some 30 million sq.m. per annum.

It operates 40 batch mills, all equipped with Metso Minerals Skega lifter bars. The Mazowsze plant has 15 batch mills, including the last seven which were installed a short while ago and which are equipped with the Ecoline rubber lifter bars.

One of the key innovations in the new Ecoline system is that the rubber lifter bar can be easily separated from the aluminium attachment profile, ensuring reduced cost and waste. A detachable fixing system allows the rubber to be replaced when it eventually wears out.
