Porcelain Brand Enters New Phase

Spanish porcelain brand Nao (Tabernes Blanques, Valencia) has a long established reputation for producing elegant, hand-made porcelain figures. The brand is set to build on its success embarking on what it says is an exciting new era in its 35-year history. A rebranding exercise, launched in Japan in 2002, is set to shape the future of Nao as it becomes implemented on a global scale in 2003.

According to the company, the object of the move is to give Nao its identity as a brand in its own right, separate from its sister company Lladró. Previously known as 'Nao, Handmade in Spain by Lladró', the brand will now be known simply as 'Nao, Handmade Porcelain'.

Along with the renaming of the brand, a design team has been brought on board to work exclusively on product development for Nao. Research is currently underway to help generate creative concepts for new collections that will mirror the demands of the market, targeting a wider audience for Nao.
