Manufacturers' Factory Network Launches

Manufacturers in the North West of England have been invited to see how others have raised their performance fast by witnessing two of the best in action on 27 February 2003. The Manufacturing Institute in Manchester, in association with Business Link, has launched the Manufacturers' Factory Network to help local manufacturers get straight to the nitty-gritty of business improvement.

The Factory Network Series forms part of a series of subsidised, hands-on and practical support measures delivered by the institute in its capacity as a Regional Centre for Manufacturing Excellence, working to boost productivity in the region's small manufacturing companies.

Dr Julie Madigan, Chief Executive of The Manufacturing Institute, said: "The Manufacturers' Factory Network Series is being delivered by the Manufacturing Advisory Service at The Manufacturing Institute in association with Business Link and provides a unique opportunity to visit manufacturing firms of all sizes and sectors who will demonstrate the secrets of thriving, rather than merely surviving.

"Host factories have been expressly chosen as shining examples of just what can be achieved to rapidly boost productivity and performance. These are not big companies with endless resource. These are small local businesses that have been bitten the improvement bullet. They prove what can be achieved to boost the bottom-line performance of your business in a matter of weeks."
