World Ceramic Exposition 2001 Korea

The World Ceramic Exposition 2001 Korea will be held in and around the cities of Incheon, Yeoju and Kwangju in Kyonggi Province from 10 August to 28 October 2001.

The Exposition is being financed by the Korean Government and Kyonggi Province and is being sponsored by many of the world's ceramic organisations, including the International Academy of Ceramics. A recent communiqu from the London Embassy of The Republic of Korea says that an estimated five million visitors are expected to go and enjoy this event; part of the new millennium project, which includes over 80 participating countries.

The event, it is said, will provide an ideal occasion to highlight the artistic and academic aspects of ceramics through the comprehensive compilation of ceramics from all over the world. Visitors are to be guaranteed a colourful cultural experience, in particular thanks to the variety of public performances on show. Participants will enjoy the opportunity to introduce and sell their ceramic products and also to entertain visitors with the beauty of their work.
