Clayware Technical Certificate is Accredited

The Building Products Training Council (BPTC) reports that the Qualification & Curriculum Authority (QCA) has accredited the Clayware Technical Certificate as a Vocationally Related Qualification. This means that it will be officially recognised for public funding which will mean lower course fees for the industry. The BPTC extended its thanks to Eric Turner and Mike Churchill for their perseverance in what was a somewhat protracted exercise.

The Technical Certificate in Clayware has been officially launched and is available to industry. Applications for the courses are already being accepted and the first cohort of learners is expected to start the course in February 2004.

The course is offered at two levels, the Foundation and the Certificate. The Foundation Level is suitable for those new to the industry or those with very little knowledge of the industry, whereas the Certificate Level is suitable for those with a little knowledge of the industry. The course is being run through Doncaster College South Yorks) and the cost will be £225 per person.
