Cersanit Buys Heavily into Opoczno
Cersanit SA now controls 48.42% of the shares of Opoczno SA. The Management Board of Opoczno SA announced that on 3 January 2007 it received notification from Cersanit, pursuant to the relevant Article of the law, that as a result of the invitation to subscribe for the sale of shares of Opoczno SA, Cersanit acquired 7,965,181 shares of the company, constituting 48,42 % of the share capital.Before the above mentioned transaction, Cersanit SA did not hold any shares in Opoczno SA.
In addition to the share purchase announcement, and fulfilling the requirement stipulated by the relevant Article of the law, Cersanit informed the company that during 12 months from the date of the above notification it did not intend to increase its share in the overall number of votes at the General Assembly of Opoczno SA.
Cersanit is a major central European sanitaryware manufacturer and the largest in Poland.
