Minister to Visit Ceramic Showcase

During a visit to the Birmingham International Fair at the National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham on 3 February 2003, the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Small Business, Nigel Griffiths MP, will be visiting Showcase.

The Minister will be met by Sue Evans, Chief Executive of the Ceramic Industry Forum and Keith Marsh, Director of the Association for Ceramic Training and Development (ACTD), the organisation which has arranged all the six Showcase events for small ceramic manufacturers.

After four successful events held in Stoke-on-Trent, the decision was taken to exhibit at the Spring Fair for the first time last year when £400,000 worth of business was written by group members during the event.

It is hoped that the Minister will have an opportunity to meet as many as possible of the 44 companies exhibiting under the Showcase banner and to learn about the problems facing small businesses in the ceramic industry.

For details about Showcase and this year's participating small ceramic manufacturers, e-mail Keith Marsh at: keith@actd.co.uk
