Ceradyne, Inc opens office in Beijing

Ceradyne, Inc. announced today the opening of its first office in mainland China. The sales and marketing office is located in Beijing and will be headed by Lu Ning.

Lu was formerly with Ceradyne Thermo Materials' Chinese agent and has several years experience in marketing Thermo Materials' products to the glass industry in China.

For approximately the last five years, Ceradyne has been marketing its industrial technical ceramics in China, the primary product being Ceradyne Thermo Materials Division's fused silica ceramic components for the tempered glass industry. Ceradyne sees strong growth in demand for its precision glass tempering product, as China has embarked on a widespread industrialization, including more modern building and automotive safety codes specifying tempered glass.

Joel P. Moskowitz, Ceradyne's CEO, stated: "Ceradyne's Beijing office represents our first operational presence in Asia and further demonstrates our commitment to market Ceradyne's advanced technical ceramics globally. The growing requirements within China support the Company's increased focus on that market."

Ceradyne develops, manufactures and markets advanced technical ceramics for industrial, electronic, defense and consumer applications. Additional information can be found at the Company's web site: http://www.ceradyne.com/
