New Ceramic Confederation Formed in Italy
The December Members' Meeting of Assopiastrelle (the association of Italian ceramic tile and refractory material manufacturers) approved the proposal to extend its scope of representation to other sectors of ceramic producing industry.The Assopiastrelle Members' Meeting unanimously approved the proposal to extend its scope of representation, in close cooperation with Federchimica, to the sectors of ceramic sanitaryware, porcelain and ceramic for household and ornamental use, porcelain and ceramic for industrial use and ceramic stoneware. The change came into effect on 1 January 2007.
On the same date Assopiastrelle, based in Sassuolo, Modena changed its name to Confindustria Ceramica. For the time being all names and addresses will remain unchanged.
The Association will sign an agreement with the Industrial Association of the Province of Viterbo to assure the integration of the ceramic companies in the Civita Castellana cluster into the association.
