Exhibitors Positive about Baucon Asia

Organiser Messe Muenchen GmbH says that after four successful days, Baucon Asia again confirmed its position as the construction industry's leading trade fair in South East Asia. The exhibitors, who came from 32 countries, were generally positive about their trade fair presentation. They praised, in particular, the quality of the trade visitors, who numbered more than 9,000 and were nearly all experts and representatives of the sector.

The exhibition attracted 347 exhibitors, 17 more than the event held in 1999. The exhibitor spread was also more international in nature, with countries represented increasing from 24 to 32. Although the economic situation continues to be difficult in South East Asia, the exhibitors took up a net area of more than 5,000 square metres, which was slightly more than in 1999.

Exactly 9,137 trade visitors from 50 countries were registered at the fair. Apart from the host country Singapore itself, Malaysia, Indonesia, India, Thailand, Korea and Australia were most strongly represented.

Baucon Asia has existed since 1991 and 2001 was its sixth showing. The next exhibition will be held in the Singapore Expo from 18-21 November 2003. With the support of the Building and Construction Authority (BCA), Messe Muenchen intends at the next event to focus even more closely on innovations, research and development. The programme of accompanying events is also to include themes specially for architects.
