Ancora Develops ‘Base Coat System’ for Porcelain Tile

The Ancora Group (Sassuolo, MO, Italy), has announced its Base Coat, a new in-line protective surface treatment for porcelain tile and natural stone, which has been developed from the experience gained from the Hi Coat Coating System and comes in response to requests from the international market for competitive new products that meet constantly evolving commercial scenarios.

With this new proposal, Hi Coat expands its range of processes and products for end-of-line treatment offering customers greater freedom to choose different application simply by changing the accessories mounted on the machine (roller or spray).

Base Coat, developed 100% with nanotechnologies and completely water based, is a simple and effective new surface treatment system that guarantees treated materials for around a year. It is applied in-line by means of a dedicated roller that distributes the product uniformly over the entire surface of the tile.

Application of Base Coat creates a water and oil-resistant barrier on the surface of the material that increases its brightness, protects it from the most common water and alcohol based staining agents and makes it easy to clean.

The Hi Coat brand name was created as a partnership between Ancora Group, which provided its experience in the field of ceramic sector machinery, and the German chemicals firm Nanoquadrat.

Hi Coat Coating System offers a range of in-line treatments for cleaning and protection of porcelain tile and stone: Hi Coat and Base Coat.

Surfaces treated with Hi Coat do not absorb staining substances as the product penetrates inside the natural micropores in the tiles and integrates perfectly with the material, reports Ancora.

The end-of-line procedure for treating natural stone and porcelain tile (polished, lapped and satin finish) seals the ceramic or stone perfectly and guarantees total long-term protection.
