Allied Mineral Products Acquires Refractories Companies
Allied Mineral Products Inc has successfully completed the acquisition of certain assets of the Chicago Fire Brick and Wellsville Fire Brick companies (also known as Chicago-Wellsville) as part of the liquidation of National Refractories and Minerals Corporation. Those assets include all of the monolithic refractory product formulas, brand names and all Chicago-Wellsville company names and trademarks.
The Chicago-Wellsville companies will now be known as the Chicago Fire Brick Division of Allied Mineral Products Inc. Chicago Fire Brick will be operated with its own separate sales organisation and its monolithic refractory products will be manufactured at Allied's Columbus, Ohio manufacturing facilities.
Manufacturing of the Chicago Fire Brick products has already begun and current orders are being shipped as requested. Several of the existing sales representatives are joining the new team.
Allied said that it would maintain all Chicago Fire Brick brand names, packaging and pricing and that its goal was to coordinate a seamless transition so that customers would recognise that Chicago Fire Brick was 'back' and ready to serve its long-term customer base with its traditional emphasis on satisfying customer needs.
