Award-winning Young Ceramicist to Exhibit at BCTF

The 22 year-old ceramicist Clare Gage from Chesterfield (Derbys, England) has been selected to exhibit at the prestigious British Craft Trade Fair (BCTF).

The Harrogate exhibition will be the first opportunity that RSA Fellow Clare has had to showcase her work since launching her own business, Clare Gage, on 1 February 2008.

Clare explained: “The BCTF represents the very best British designer makers and reflects the cream of British contemporary art and design. It’s an amazing opportunity to promote my work to the thousands of people who visit the three day exhibition”.

Clare makes her award-winning and distinctive pottery, a fusion of her interest in both textiles and ceramics, in a studio at the rear of 479 Chatsworth Road in Chesterfield. 479 is a unique shopping emporium that is home to inspirational shops including Created, a showcase for all things handmade, that is owned by Clare’s mother Deirdre. Created will be one of the few shops to sell the complete range of Clare Gage ceramics and also intends to develop a hub where talented East Midlands artists and craftspeople can be inspired, nurtured and developed.
