New Edition of Refractories Book Announced

Vulkan-Verlag, an Oldenbourg-Gruppe subsidiary based in Essen in Germany, has announced the publication of the 3rd Edition of its 'Taschenbuch Feuerfeste Werkstoffe' (Refractory Materials Handbook). First published in 1996, the handbook is edited by Gerald Routschka and runs to 505 pages in an A6 format. It is available at a cost of DM 78/Eur 39.88.

A series of chapters in the book have been revised. Meanwhile, two chapters covering the new developments in the alumina-magnesia-carbon material groups and magnesia/iron spinel have been added. New headings and data are included in the appendix to further improve the reference part of the handbook, while the list of standards and literature reference is updated for this edition.
