Vietnamese Exports Set to Rise


VNS reports that The Ha Noi Ceramic Tiles Company has already this year signed contracts to export 1 million square metres of tiles in 2003.

Last year, the company gained an export value of VND 13 billion. It now sells its products in 20 countries, including North America, Russia and Korea.

The company is preparing to invest in a production factory in Viruke in Russia, worth US$12 million, with an expected annual production capacity of 3 million square metres.

Meanwhile, VNS also reports that Viglacera plans to earn some US$8 million from exports this year, marking a 74% increase on the 2002 figure.

Last year, the corporation had a turnover of VND 2,160 billion (around US$141 million) and employed more than 15,000 people, paying an average monthly salary bill of VND 1.2 million.
