Villeroy & Boch Targets €12-15 m Sales in India

German sanitary ware maker Villeroy & Boch is targeting sales of €12-15 million by 2012 in India, a top company executive said.

Villeroy & Boch, which started its operations there last year, recently announced that its subsidiary Villeroy & Boch India would offer premium brands in the bath and wellness segments.

“India is a key market for us. Out of the overall sanitaryware market in the country, the branded market accounts for 36 per cent and we are eyeing an 8-10 per cent share in the next 2-3 years,” Villeroy & Boch Country Manager - Indian Subcontinent (Bath room and Wellness Division), Mr Rahul Kher said on Wednesday.

“We also plan to achieve a sales target of €12-15 million in the next two-three years in the country,” he said. The company was looking at a two-three-year time-frame to achieve its target due to the on-going economic slowdown, which has reduced the per centage of housing and hospitality projects, Mr Kher said.

Villeroy & Boch, which has four distinct lifestyles - Metropolitan, Classic, Country and Easy - offers a range of products which include sanitary ceramics, bathroom furniture, bathtubs and shower system, amongst others.
