New 'understanding' set to boost Staffordshire's ceramic skills drive

The evolving skills needs of Staffordshire’s ceramics industry have been given a major boost this week, with the official signing of a groundbreaking ‘Memorandum of Understanding’ between Staffordshire Learning and Skills Council (LSC) and the Association for Ceramic Training and Development (ACTD).

This news, which comes after a six-month development period, is set to build on the excellent work of ACTD, which has already helped learners in the ceramic industry improve essential skills, access team leader training and gain recognised qualifications, such as National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs).

In addition to boosting the workforce, the agreement will also look to help people, who have been made redundant, re-enter the market through gaining new skills and transferring existing ones into new areas of the sector.
