Brookfield Invests in Manufacture of Texture Analysers

Brookfield Viscometers Ltd (West Harlow, Essex, England) now produces its own range of texture analysers. In 2003, Brookfield acquired the existing CNS Farnell product range, along with its experienced technical and sales support team. Since then, as part of a significant investment programme in texture analysis, Brookfield has begun producing two instruments.

These are the QTS 25 and the LFRA texture analysers, which the company says meet the requirements of both QC and research environments at an affordable price.

Both instruments offer accurate determination of texture characteristics across a wide range of materials. The QTS 25 is a full-featured compression and tension analyser supplied with a range of probes and accessories for routine and special sample testing. The LFRA has a long-established reputation in the gels and gel testing world under the Stevens brand. Over 25 years it has become recognised as the standard for Gelatin Bloom testing and is described as a cost effective method for evaluation of gel strength.
