Malvern Makes Further Appointment to US Rheology Team


Malvern Instruments Inc (Southborough, MA, USA) has continued expansion of its rheology team with the appointment of Dr Fred Mazzeo to the position of Product Manager. He joins from TA Instruments where he was Senior Applications Scientist. His primary responsibility will be to provide expertise to aid in technical sales and applications support to Malvern rheology customers in the Americas.

Dr Mazzeo has strong academic credentials, with BSc and MS degrees in Ceramic Engineering and Materials Science and a PhD focusing on 'Extrusion Rheology of Fine Particulate Ceramic Systems'. Throughout his career he has gained knowledge in other areas of rheology, including polymeric systems, adhesives and pharmaceuticals. He has extensive experience not only in rheological characterisation, but also with a wide range of analytical techniques, including colloidal characterisation methods encompassing particle size and shape analysis for micron, submicron and nanoscale materials.
