Max Machinery Appointed to Sell Tunnel Kiln

Max Machinery Ltd (Stoke-on-Trent, England) has been appointed to exclusively handle the sale of a 'Drayton Kilns' fast fire tunnel kiln. The kiln was originally manufactured in 1988 for one of the UK's leading ceramic lampbase manufacturers. The kiln was installed at the client's factory in the South of England, where it was used for firing both biscuit and glost ware.

In 1997, the kiln was moved to the client's headquarters, during which time it was refurbished and a new lining fitted prior to re-commissioning. It has been successfully operated since this time and is currently still in operation. Therefore, interested parties can view this kiln by making a prior arrangement through Max Machinery.

The kiln was manufactured as a modular system with lightweight refractory hot face bricks backed with ceramic fibre and it has full automatic control and car movement. The kiln has 19 cars with a 1.19m3 car setting volume. It is designed to operate up to 1200°C although, with some modifications, this temperature could be increased if required. The firing cycle is 9-10 hours cold to cold.
