Kenmare Makes Key Appointments

Kenmare has announced the appointment of Jacob Deysel as Chief Operations Officer of Kenmare and James White as General Manager of the Moma Titanium Minerals Mine in Mozambique.

Jacob Deysel joins Kenmare from Richards Bay Minerals in South Africa where he was General Manager for Mining and Planning. Richards Bay Minerals is the world’s largest single producer of titanium feedstocks. Jacob holds a BSc in Mine Engineering and Masters in Business Administration, both from the University of Witwatersrand. He has worked in the titanium feedstock industry since 2003. Previously he worked with Gold Fields Ltd at Driefontein Mine where he was ultimately Operations Manager for a mining operation of seven shafts and 12,000 employees producing 200,000 tonnes of ore per month. At Richards Bay Minerals, Jacob has had responsibility for the mine’s five plants in addition to geology, mine planning and maintenance.

James White joins Kenmare from Iluka Resources in Western Australia where he was Operations Manager for South West operations for the past five years. Iluka is the world’s largest producer of zircon and the second largest producer of titanium feedstocks and the South West business unit produces approximately 800,000 tonnes of titanium feedstocks per annum. He was responsible for organisational development and planning, technical management of the mining operations and processing plants, logistics, commercial, engineering, human resources and community management. He previously worked with Huntsman Tioxide, one of the world’s largest producers of titanium dioxide pigment, for 14 years. James has a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from the Curtin University of Technology in Perth, Western Australia.
