KEMET Expands Product Line

KEMET Corporation (Greenville, SC, USA) has further expanded its ceramic capacitor portfolio with EIA 1210 case size capacitors, offering the same capacitance and voltage extensions as its newly expanded EIA 1812 line, only in a smaller package.

The capacitance values offered are 6.8uF and 10uF in a 25-volt rated part type and 4.7uF in a 50-volt rated part type.

"Customer demand for more capacitance has translated into thinner dielectric layers and a higher layer count," said Corey Antoniades, Associate Product Manager for the Ceramic Business Unit. "Our advanced sheet-making and laminating technology has allowed us to meet these demands."

These HiCV capacitors are suitable for both automotive and consumer-oriented electronics and devices such as laptop and desktop computers, digital cameras, gaming systems, LCDs, handheld devices, disk drives and more. Applications include decoupling, by-pass, filtering and energy storage.

Superior solderability is achieved thanks to 100% pure matte, tin-plated terminations; tin/lead termination is also available for those customers needing the capacitors for high reliability and military applications.

The capacitors are being offered in an X7R dielectric with an operating temperature range between -55°C and +125°C, with zero bias capacitance shift limited to +/- 15% over that range. Capacitance tolerances offered include both K(+/- 10%) and M(+/- 20%). They meet all requirements of the Automotive Electronic Council's AEC-Q200-Rev C.
