Sell-Out Brings Ceramic World to India

The upcoming Indian Ceramics 2009 exhibition (3-5 March, Karnavati Club, Ahmedabad, Gujarat) is the largest and most international in the series – and despite the current climate is a completely sold-out show.

This is the 4th Indian Ceramic Materials, Supplies, Plant & Technology Show and once again is set to make a big impact on industry and progress in Gujarat, which is one of Asia’s most important and dynamic areas for ceramic manufacture.

“I am glad to know that the Indian Ceramics Exhibition is being organised at the Karnavati Club in Ahmedabad,” said Shri Rupesh C Shah, President of the highly influential Gujarat Chamber of Commerce & Industry. “This mega event will bring together business leaders, investors, corporations, thought leaders and policy & opinion makers on one platform to understand and explore opportunities in Gujarat.”

The manufacture of ceramic sanitaryware, wall & floor tiles, insulators, technical ceramics, bricks, roof tiles, tableware and refractories is both historically – and most certainly for the future – an important and respected element in Gujarati industry. The potential identified here is enormous and this has drawn top names from China, Italy, Spain, UK, Germany, Mexico, France, Turkey, Thailand, Belgium, Ukraine – and of course from India itself – to participate in this year’s showcase.

“Our last two events were staged in Mumbai and, while successful, it became clear to us that if we could find a suitable venue in Gujarat, this would make it so much easier for the manufacturing community in this vital Ceramic Cluster to visit and to discuss latest technologies,” commented the event director, Kevin Hudson.  “Not only have we done this in Ahmedabad, and succeeded in selling every stand, but we have backed this effort up with an extensive poster campaign and hand delivery of special invitations across Gujarat.”

This event has not only consolidated its position as the only exhibition in the country to present all key technologies and materials for each sector, but it has indeed established a local role for itself. “In the backdrop to Vibrant Gujarat’s success,” said Rupesh Shah, “this exhibition will be marked as an international event and will offer potential investors an insight into what is new and what is forthcoming in the Indian Ceramic World.”

These sentiments were backed up by Shri Veljibhai Patel, President of the Morbi Dhuva Glaze Tiles Association. “I welcome the Indian Ceramics 2009 exhibition being held in Ahmedabad,” he said. “The Indian Ceramics exhibitions held in 2006, 2007 and 2008 played a great role in connecting the Indian ceramic and auxiliary industry with global trade, industry and suppliers. These events have been a great tool in developing the Indian ceramic industries in general. I wish great success to the event and again congratulate the organisers.”

This idea of connectivity has been a crucial factor in the show’s increasing popularity and rising influence. Much close work on the ground takes place with the trade associations from each sector, industry leaders and Gujarati agents, translators and advisors.

“Aside from all our other efforts,” concluded Kevin Hudson, “our chosen home, the Karnavati Club, is a highly accessible, well known and widely respected venue with modern amenities. I look forward to welcoming Board, technical and production executives from right across the industry.

“The tremendous spread of local, national and international technologies represented by our exhibitors is an unmissable opportunity to get informed, to negotiate and to upgrade, which is just what the industry needs. I hope for and expect a record attendance.”
