Powerful magnet suited to inaccessible places

Goudsmit Magnetic Systems BV (Waalre, Holland) has introduced the 'Clean-Flow', a new type of magnet designed for non-continuous production processes in industries involving, for example, powder handling and processing. This magnet, a clean flow type, releases all the iron particles at the touch of a button, making it possible to have it mounted in inaccessible places.

The model consists of two magnet drawers which are mounted one above the other. These grid magnets consist of very powerful Neoflux(r) (Neodymium-Iron-Borium) magnets. A magnetic value of 8,000 Gauss is realised. The raw material twice encounters a pair of strong magnets, resulting in a high ferrous removal level and even enabling the separation of iron dust (30 micron). The magnet drawers are mounted in a completely dust-free housing with a low installation height.

Once the production process has been shut down, the cleaning cycle can commence. During the cleaning cycle, a hatch situated below the magnets is opened and the magnetic cores are pneumatically retracted. This breaks the magnetic field and deposits the iron particles in a container beneath the hatch. The magnetic cores are then replaced, whereupon the hatch closes and the production process can resume.
