Seminars on Energy and Waste Minimisation for Ceramic Manufacturers

The Government's Energy Efficiency Best Practice and EnviroWise programmes are working closely with the British Ceramic Confederation (BCC) to help the UK ceramic industry reduce its energy bills and increase profitability. To this end, they will be holding a series of free events to give advice on energy and waste minimisation. The provisional programmes for two upcoming events are detailed below. Some extra speakers will be announced with the issue of the final programmes.

22 February 2001
'Monitoring and Managing Energy in Ceramics Operations'
Kindly hosted by Chelwood Brick at its Denton manufacturing site in Manchester. Clifford Bassett of Briar Associates will conduct a one-day training session on appropriate monitoring and management systems for ceramic companies. Important factors for choosing data and communications systems will be covered, as well as reporting standards and investment appraisal issues. There will also be addresses by David Beardsworth (Technical Director of the BCC) and by the Environment and Energy Helpline. The event will finish at around 4pm and lunch will be provided.

22 March 2001
'Minimising Waste in the Whitewares Industry'
