EnCera 04 Japan
EnCera 04 - The 3rd International Symposium on the Science of Engineering Ceramics - will take place in Osaka, Japan from 31 October to 3 November 2004. The event is sponsored by the Ceramic Society of Japan and is (provisionally) endorsed by the American Ceramic Society, Australasian Ceramic Society, Chinese Ceramics Society, European Ceramic Society and Korean Ceramic Society. The symposium language will be English.
Recent research activities in engineering ceramics have opened up their new aspects, including unique fabrication process, novel structure and excellent properties. Along with this, the properties-structure relationships have been in the process of clarification as well. These all give a better understanding of the fundamentals and the potential applications of ceramics in advanced technologies.
Following the success of the previous two events in the series - held in 1991 and 1998 - EnCera 04 will cover the most recent findings in the world of engineering ceramics and related materials. It will consist of four topical issues: new ceramic processing; novel structured ceramics; properties and characterisation; and systems and applications.
