2004 Elections for Acimac Chairman

Acimac (Italian Ceramic Plant & Machinery Manufacturers' Association) has begun the process leading to the election of a new Chairman who will take over from Franco Stefani and remain in office for the four-year period 2004-2008.

The Executive Board meeting on 5 February 2004 appointed the Designation Committee which consists of the association's three Past Chairmen - Ivanno Ligabue (LB Officine Meccaniche), Fausto Tarozzi (Barbieri & Tarozzi Group) and Mauro Poppi (Ipeg). They are responsible for consulting with Acimac members to choose a candidate for the chairmanship.

The outcome of the consultations will be communicated to the Executive Board at the next meeting in March. After evaluating the proposals, the Board will confirm the name of the Chairman Designate which will be submitted to the AGM for approval.

Acimac currently has 113 member companies which account for almost all of the turnover in this sector - some 1.4 billion euro according to preliminary end-of-year results for 2003. Two-thirds of revenues are generated by exports.
