Wood Kilns to be Replaced in Vietnamese Province
VNS reports that the Chairman of the People's Committee in the southern central Vietnamese province of Binh Thuan has banned local producers from using wood to fire the traditional kilns used there. They will be encouraged to change to more efficient techniques.The province will encourage local producers to build tunnel type kilns. According to the report, Binh Thuan Province expects to stop the building and upgrading of traditional kilns by 2005 and to put an end to their operation completely by 2010.
