Waterford Wedgwood plc – Further Update on Financing
Waterford Wedgwood plc announced on 12 December 2008 that its senior lenders had agreed to a further extension of the forbearance referred to in the 1 December 2008 announcement for the period through to 19 December 2008.
Ongoing discussions with an interested institutional investor and the Group's senior lenders continue to be advanced and a further announcement will be made as and when appropriate, said the company.
The announcement followed reporting of the company’s interim results the previous week which had revenue down 15.4% at €207.6 million and losses before tax from continuing operations worsened 27% to €63.2 million from €49.9 million in the same period of 2007.
