The Society for Glass & Ceramic Decorators (SGCD) is seeking abstracts for papers to be presented at DECO 2003 which will take place in Nashville, TN, USA from 29 March to 1 April 2003. The programme theme is 'Marketing with Added Value' and SGCD's Planning Committee has developed a new programme format which includes more sessions on general business topics as well as the traditional sessions on decorating technical topics.

Business and management sessions will be organised by Bill Webster of Lenox and members are invited to submit abstracts covering topics such as inventory management, motivation, recruiting and related topics.

Technical sessions will continue to focus on innovative technical topics. Sessions will include decorating materials (moderated by Ed Weiner of Maryland China); decorating processes (moderated by Mark Kelly of Global Custom Decorating); decals (moderated by Charles Smith of H J Amann); organics (moderated by Steve Presutto); and a session on precious metals.

SGCD's 2002 Frank S Child Award winner Prem Boaz and Geoff Weinstock of Ferro will organise a session on flat glass coatings and innovation.

SGCD will also continue its popular marketing, design and innovation session which will be directed by Sandy Nelson of Decoritalia and Robert Zollweg of Libbey Inc.

In addition, SGCD will repeat the popular First Step Decorating Fundamentals seminar with Simon Bath of Johnson Matthey and Erik Wagg of Reusche & Co organising the programme.
