Indian Ceramics Garners Top Support and Delivers the Business

The Indian Ceramics Exhibition (11-13 March 2008, Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai), under the experienced, guiding hand of Gattaca Communications, has found its previous pioneering efforts (Morbi in 2006 and Mumbai in 2007) paying dividends and cementing partnerships, reports the organiser.

International groups will participate with the logistical assistance and marketing expertise offered by leading bodies such as ACIMAC in Italy, VDMA in Germany, CCPIT in China and ICCTAS in India itself.

ACIMAC has worked closely with Indian Ceramics since its inception and the Italian presentation is set to impress once again, especially given the strong line of technical exchange and supply forged with the Asian ceramic markets. Acimac has recently relocated to prestigious offices in Villa Marchetti and director Paolo Gambuli said: “As an association in existence for less than 20 years ACIMAC is young, but has showed itself capable of growing, strengthening and evolving at the same rate as the sector that it represents. I can say with pride that in qualitative and quantitative terms our companies have now reached an excellent level of services, with consistent and highly professional support”.

The VDMA in Germany will both promote and lend assistance to the German exhibitors in Mumbai and will also be introducing new initiatives and a forum which it is hoped will launch new partnerships and more firm business.

The Building Materials Sub-Council of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPITBM) is a key organisation in that country and the materials and machinery sector it will present at this show is growing its overseas business incrementally and becoming a real force.

Project Manager Mark Meng, based at the Beijing headquarters, said: “This time CCPITBM is organising a 300 square metre Chinese pavilion at the Indian Ceramics exhibition. Some of the best Chinese companies include Keda Industrial Co Ltd; Foshan City Modena Machinery Co Ltd; Tegaote Ceramic Co Ltd; Wellhope High-tech Materials Co Ltd; Foshan Henglitai Machinery Co Ltd – and more.

“This is the third time our Chinese pavilion has featured at Indian Ceramics. The Chinese companies are impressed about the Indian market, they are looking forward to the future and we believe, with the support of ICCTAS, the exhibition will be a very successful one.”

CCPITBM, since its establishment, has contributed greatly to the advancement of professional exhibitions such as this one and signals its support while reinforcing its efforts, as it says itself, “by adherence to sincerity, credibility, excellent services and diligence”.

Gattaca Communications said that, all in all, these alliances have proved to be a great springboard for the third in this series of vital showcases on the subcontinent, not only one of the fastest growing producers of quality ware for export but also a repository of enormous talent and the nucleus of an organic internal market which is poised to realise massive potential in the next three years.

“Like any market with which you hope to have a long-term and mutually beneficial relationship,” commented showcase director Paul Ratcliffe, “you work with the best and try hard to get the best out of that work. Indian Ceramics has had the support of ICCTAS from the earliest of times; we’ve helped and supported their industry representatives from companies both big and small – they have always responded enthusiastically to the presentations we aim to facilitate.

“A bedrock of trust is key – in a market as geographically and technically diverse as India it is inevitable that ideas for other events will be mooted. Most of these notions amount to no more than flying a kite, while we have our feet firmly on the ground and, what’s more, both the buyers and sellers know it.”

According to the organisers, everything is being done to provide the requisite information, encouragement and assistance for participants and the plans are for Indian Ceramics 2008 to take the very best from its previous initiatives and move everything up a gear.

“It is not some idle promise to deliver these things for our exhibitors,” said operations director Steve Mason.  “We have a dedicated media desk here in the UK, of course, but we have also appointed a media partner in Rajkot and he is ensuring that everything we issue is translated into Gujarati and disseminated to what, after all, is one of the largest recognised Ceramic Clusters in Asia.

“I’m also delighted to say that that we have plans well advanced for a flight assistance programme. This will see us providing a limited number of berths for top executives to fly free of charge into Mumbai. Our present strategy, subject to availability, is to operate a VIP fly-in scheme on each of the three days of the show.”
