Ideal Standard International Introduces Enhanced Design Choice

A new age of design choice is dawning in the bathroom, with the introduction of an exciting, menu-style collection from Ideal Standard International (Brussels, Belgium), a leading provider of innovative, design-driven bathroom solutions.

Ideal Standard ‘Connect’ is a collection of bathroom solutions including innovative storage and stylish accessories created by the award-winning UK designer, Robin Levien. It comprises interchangeable elements built around three distinctive soft-edged basin shapes – Sphere, Cube or Arc – that, when combined, are claimed to offer consumers a seamless, high-end look at a mid-market price tag.

Robin Levien explained: “The collection acknowledges the ideas, shapes and design more familiar at the upper end of the market, but makes them much more accessible. Ideal Standard Connect offers a ‘buffet’ of infinitely flexible choices, but because they all feature the same gentle geometry, the result is a very desirable and timeless ‘soft minimalism’ that is completely holistic.

“It’s a much more sculptural and organic version of the clean, clinical minimalism that we’ve seen at the high end of bathroom design, so it’s very easy to live with in terms of both aesthetics and practicality. It is design that whispers, not shouts.”

Connect includes more than 15 different types of washbasins, different types of furniture, a large choice of bathtubs and three types of mirrors with lighting and integrated splashback panel as well as 30 individual pieces for storage.

The bathtubs are available in no less than five different sizes to ensure that they fit in pretty much any bathroom. The wide backrest area of the bathtub range has a straight shape thus complementing the ‘soft minimalist’ look and feel of the collection. An extra feature in all the bathtubs is the Ideal Flow hidden overflow system. This means the tubs can be installed up to 40mm lower than other standard bathtubs, which can make a real difference to people with mobility issues. The collection also features a water-saving bathtub, which has an ingenious design with softly sloping interior and tapered foot end that reduces the amount of water needed to enjoy a deep indulgent soak.

Philippe Thibaut, Global VP Ceramics, Furniture & Accessories for Ideal Standard International, commented: “With the launch of Connect, we are delighted to be offering high-end design solutions at a more affordable price. The beauty of the Connect range is its flexibility and individuality – whether you’re planning a busy family space, an elegant shower room or a compact cloakroom, Connect offers a complete solution and value without compromise”.
