Latest in Gres Porcellanato Technology

R.A.K. Ceramics (Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates) has successfully come up with a "marvel in porcellanato technology" by making the largest porcellanato slabs in the world. The company's slabs in large format - rivalling natural granite and marble slabs - are said to now be one of the most sought after interior and exterior finishing. The inherent advantages of the porcelain material, such as high strength, high abrasion resistance and almost zero water absorption, compare extremely well with natural granite and marble. These slabs can be used in any high traffic areas and properties of the material also allow easy profiling and cutting of the material to any shape and design.

The frost-proof fully vitrified slabs are manufactured using the most advanced modern technology from SACMI (Imola, Italy) using carefully selected superior quality raw materials; mainly china clay, feldspars, silica sand etc. Many of these raw materials are imported from the UK, Spain, Germany and France. The world's largest press of its kind, the PH 7200, which imparts a force of up to 7,200 tons, is used in the manufacture of these large slabs. Advanced MDR technology used in the manufacture of these items also helps in imparting the design throughout the thickness of the slabs. This makes polishing of the slabs very effective. Pieces measuring 120cm by 180cm with a thickness of 1.8cm can be produced.
