Extended Column Version for Materials Tester

An extended column version of the LFPlus universal single column materials testing machine from Lloyd Instruments Ltd (Fareham, Hants, England) is available which increases the crosshead travel range from 500mm to 750mm. This allows the testing of high elongation, ductile materials. The test speeds range from 0.05mm/min to 1270mm/min and accuracy greater than 0.2% applies equally to both the extended version and the standard configuration.

In addition, large samples or fixtures can be accommodated by a deep throat measuring 175mm and by fitting an expanded worktable to the instrument. Extended worktables are supplied with a matrix of metric or imperial threaded holes for ease of mounting of samples and fixtures. In addition, an optional T-slot allows unusually shaped samples to be clamped to the base or customised grips and fixtures to be fitted.

With material testing and force measurement up to 1kN (225 lbf), Lloyd says the LFPlus Series is ideally suited to tension, compression, flexural or shear testing of a wide range of raw materials, finished products, or indeed right the way through the whole manufacturing cycle. Tests can be fully automated through the addition of NEXYGEN(tm) MT data analysis and control software.
